Bond Street Chocolate Opens in NYC

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Last night saw the opening of swanky chocolate boutique Bond St Chocolate. The store has been opened for a while and we tasted their chocolates way back, but this was a ‘real’ opening, soothing Jazz music complemented the passed cardamon chocolate tuiles. Customers and friends could mingle freely and congratulate the staff and chef Linda Stern.
Linda’s creations have a rock n’ roll and ethnic feel to them, combining South-Asian spices and Buddha shapes with trendy skull-shaped molds and blood-orange flavors. We look forward to bringing them to you on Savorique.com, and if you are in New York’s East Village, be sure to stop by the store on 4th Street!

What's The Expiration Date Paradox

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Ever noticed that it seemed fine to eat slightly expired yogurt at home whereas one would never buy the same expired yogurt at the store?

A recent study at Baruch College/CUNY explains why consumers take the expiration date more seriously at the store than at home with a phenomenon termed “endowment effect”. Product ownership increases valuation of it.

Other factors motivate people to consume expired food at home such as getting their money’s worth but even after controlling for costs and motivations, consumers were still more inclined to consume expired food they already owned because they put more intrinsic value in it.

At Savorique, we make sure to deliver only fresh products to your home. If you received an expired product, we would replace it immediately. This is our guarantee of quality.

We also advise to eat our fresh chocolates as soon as possible to better enjoy the full array of flavors.
